All pure butter is permitted. Spreadable butter is only permitted when rabbinically approved.
Special note to those who only have Chalav Yisrael but rely on the heter of Chemat Akum for Butter: Due to modern manufacturing methods, even products labelled 'Pure Butter' may no longer have the special heter of Chemat Akum.
